Founded in 1995, the 17-piece big band is made up of the most prominent jazz soloists and band leaders in the greater Seattle area.
True to her sobriquet, Jacqueline Tabor, the Seattle Chanteuse, is a premier jazz and blues-infused vocalist of the Pacific Northwest—three- time winner of the Earshot Jazz Vocalist of the Year. Tabor's sound contains the perfect amount of sustained vibrato, touched by the emotions contained in the lyrics.
Skill, improvisation, and swing come together! Roosevelt Jazz is part of the dynamic performing arts department at Roosevelt High School in Seattle. Our program consists of four instrumental big bands and one vocal jazz group, all supported by the Roosevelt Jazz Booster Club.
Composing in the musical languages of old Europe, modern Spain, 1990’s Cuba and the US of today, Marina Albero is a rare improvisational artist. Whether baroque, flamenco, son or American jazz, Albero shares chapters on learning, love, loss, and life that will move you.
